The LWN 160 HP (High Precision) hard whirling machine is ideal for producing lead screws. It is suitable for external machining up to 6,000 mm in length and increases productivity by a factor of 3 compared to modern grinding machines, without compromising machining quality. Very convincing is the fact that the pitch accuracy of five-start threads is only 1 µm, the dimensional accuracy in the cylindricity of the thread diameter is better than 3μm, and the roughness depth Ra achieved in the hard whirling process is less than 0.2 µm.
